Description: The tour begins with the transfer from accommodation to the ghost town of St. Severinus. The medieval town of San Severino Centola is a ghost town inhabited by half a century. Situated in a dominant position on Mingardo Valley is located on the cliffs of the "Devil's Throat", where in 1075 he was killed in an ambush on Lombard Guido, Count of Policastro.
The origins of San Severino are linked to the Lombards, who built a watchtower on the hill, then the castle was built and developed as the whole house on the ridge.
Walking along the streets that branch off from the abandoned houses we dig into a surreal and you can see a glimpse of rural life in the Cilento that no longer exists. |
