Description: The Oasis is the largest conservation project of WWF Italy and represents the practical support in defense of biodiversity and natural territory. Established in 1985, has an area of 607 hectares.

The town is perched atop a cliff overlooking the WWF Oasis of Morigerati cave, inside which you can admire the wonderful resurgence of Bussento. It features nature trails and picnic area to visit the caves. The bottom of the gorge of the river provides a habitat attractive Bussento where bank vegetation is characterized by the development of mosses and ferns, and trees, willows and alders. To the northwest, overlooking the valley, lies a well preserved ilex. Lie along the path is accompanied by the holm oak, ash and hornbeam from the mediterranean and euphorbia trees.

Is also very rich fauna of streams where no doubt dominate the population of otters, perhaps the richest in Italy. In areas closer to the springs where the water is cooler, more consistent and dense riparian forests provide plenty of shade, live rare spectacled salamander, Italian endemism of great interest. The aquatic fauna is characterized also by the presence of trout, prawns and crabs.

Sites with a clear water and oxygen-rich and abundant trout Dipper, the banks are frequent small waders waders such as Little Ringed Plover and in small pools Rana Italy, the Dalmatian Rana, the Yellow-bellied Toad and toad; among the rocky gorges Biancone rare, large bird of prey that feeds mainly reptiles attending the oasis. The entire area offers one of the most spectacular and most attractive natural park.
